As Co-Founder and Creative Director of Martinsson King, David set out to challenge the conventions of professional haircare by creating a brand where performance and sustainability could truly coexist. From the first sketches of the concept to the final formulations, he worked hands-on as both product developer and storyteller — crafting a range of shampoos, conditioners, and styling products that are entirely vegan, climate-compensated, and built with a long-term vision of responsibility.
‘When I founded Martinsson King, my vision was simple: create professional haircare that performs at the highest level while respecting the planet. I wanted to prove that sustainability and style don’t have to be at odds — that a shampoo or styling product could be both powerful in the salon and responsible in its footprint.
As Creative Director, I worked closely on every detail: from the formulas, which are 100% vegan, to the packaging and climate-compensated production. Each product was designed not only to deliver results but to tell a story about where beauty is headed.
The journey was both challenging and rewarding, and seeing Martinsson King recognised at the Danish and Dutch Beauty Awards was a proud moment. For me, it confirmed that conscious choices resonate — with professionals, with clients, and with the wider beauty industry.’
